Aadhaar and Student Scholarships to be linked in Maharashtra

The Government of Maharashtra is proposed to ling students’ scholarship scheme to Aadhaar numbers from March 2013. The issue came up at a meeting of UIDAI officials at Lok Mangal, Pune.

The decision has been taken as part of the Union Government's efforts to implement Direct Cash Transfer (DCT) scheme. The District Collector of Pune has informed that the linking of scholarships with Aadhaar numbers is likely to be completed by March 2013.
