BJP in a fix over Telangana Bill

Among all, it is the BJP which is going to face problem with the Telangana Bill. The Congress may push the bill forward to fix BJP on the eve of general elections 2014.

The BJP has been consistent in its stand on the creation of Telangana state. But it’s expansion plans are likely to hit badly in Andhra Pradesh if it goes to support the Telangana Bill outright.

The BJP will not be in a position to surpass the TRS and Congress combine even if it supports the Telangana Bill unconditionally. It may gain slightly in the quadrilateral contest.

Coming to Seemandhra, BJP may drew blank if it supports T Bill. But it may deposit some support if align with TDP and backtrack on Telangana Bill. In such case, Congress is likely to come heavily on the BJP at the national level which the later may not digest.

  1. Nothing to worry about the prospects of BJP in the General Elections 2014, as it has already sidelined itself insisting on equal justice to Telangana and Seemandhra regions of A.P.. It is playing a second fiddle to the TDP which has the brighter chance of attaining political power to form Govt. or to sit in as the main opposition party in A.P. yielding to the YSRCP, another regional party to take roots in A.P. Indian National Congress on the other hand would be rooted out once for all, for not less than a decade in Andhra Pradesh due largely to its own divisive politics to retain power.
