Bonalu festival is celebrated across Telangana state. The festival is called Bonalu or Mahankali bonalu is a Hindu Festival. The Goddess Mahakali is worshiped in this festival. Bonalu is celebrated in the month of Ashada Masam, in July / August every year.
Bonalu is an annual festival of Telangana and the Government of Telangana is conducting the festival officially at various sacred places. The festival is mainly celebrated in Twin Cities of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and other parts of Telangana.
