Capital focus shifting to Guntur

The Andhra Pradesh government has shifted its focus on Guntur district to build a new capital city for Seemandhra. Though the government has announced the capital location around Vijayawada, most of the capital region is likely to come up in Guntur district.

The Chandrababu Naidu government is keen on developing the Guntur district areas focusing the requirements of capital city. The focus will be more on developing connectivity to Guntur – hyderabad – Kurnool.

The government is also planning to construct three ring roads in and around Guntur – Vijayawada region. Amaravathi and Sattenapalli areas will be favourites of the government for public offices.

It is also proposed that the new capital will be mostly in government lands only as the prices of private lands escalated leaps and bounds and farmers are hardly agreeing to the terms of land pooling by government.
