Chevella Lok Sabha Constituency – History and Profile

Chevella Parliamentary (Lok Sabha) Constituency was formed in 2009 after delimitation of constituencies by Election Commission of India. The constituency first went to polls in 2009 and S. Jaipal Reddy was the first MP of Chevella Lok Sabha Constituency.

Chevella constituency was formed with Chevella, Tandur, Parigi, Vikarabad, Serilingam Palli, Rajendranagar and Maheswaram Assembly constituencies. There are more than 17 lakhs voters in the constituency.

The Congress Party won from Chevella Constituency in 2009 elections. It’s candidates Jaipal Reddy defeated Jithender Reddy of TDP with more than 20000 votes margin.

BJP has fielded Baddam Bal Reddy in 2009 elections. Jithender Reddy has joined in TRS recently and may be fielded by TRS in 2014 elections. Jaipal Reddy may leave the constituency to test his fortunes from Mahaboobnagar Constituency.
