Eenadu is read by 1.58 Crore people everyday with 9th position in India

Eenadu, the largest circulated Telugu daily has created history by garnering 1.58 crore readership in the latest Indian Readership Survey – 2017. The exact readership of the newspaper is 1,58,48,000 which means that the daily is being read by the Telugu readers everyday. Eenadu is in fourth place in the vernacular dailies.

No English daily in top 10 positions:

In terms of readership, Eenadu is in 9th place at all India level. Ironically, no English daily has secured place in top 10 positions in readership numbers.

Hindi and regional language newspapers are in lead positions and English dailies are in backfoot in readership statistics. Dainik Jagran, a Hindi daily is in top slot with 7.03 crore readership everyday. Hindustan, Amar Ujala, Dainik Bhaskar, Dinatanti (Tamil) are in next positions.

39 percent reading newspapers:

The survey has estimated that 39 percent of Indians, among 12 years of age and above are reading newspapers in the country. In urban areas with 50 lakhs and more population, 20 percent readers are following online editions of newspapers.

The Times of India, leading English daily in the country is in 11th position in readership with 1.3 crore readers. The survey is conducted by Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) and Readership Studies Council of India (RSCI). Odisha has seen 84 percent growth in readership.
