The GHMC elections are over and all eyes are now on the results to be announced on 5th February 2016. The local TV channels like TV9 and TV5 have predicted majority for TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) and second and third places for MIM and TDP – BJP combine respectively. The TRS is poised for win in more than half of the seats, as per the exit polls.
Following are TV 9 Predictions:
1) TRS: 78-82 seats
2) MIM: 35-60 seats
3) BJP – TDP: 24-33 seats
4) Congress: 8-10 seats
TV5 Predictions:
1) TRS: 81-85 seats
2) MIM: 32-37 seats
3) BJP – TDP: 25-30 seats
4) Congress: 3-7 seats
Both the surveys and voter mood also says that the Congress may face rough weather in GHMC elections. All the surveys predicted big losses for the Congress party. Rating agency AARRA has also predicted that the TRS would win 81-85 seats.
The TRS has not contested in 2009 Civic polls. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) had 43 corporators in the previous council and most likely to retain the same number in this elections also. The TDP – BJP combine is likely to loss the number from previous 50 corporators to around 25-30 corporators.
