Hanuman Junction in race for Capital of Seemandhra

Hanuman Junction AP Capital Here joins another town in the race for new capital city for Seemandhra / Andhra Pradesh. It is Hanuman Junction lies in border between Krishna and West Godavari districts. The town is under the purview of Gannavaram Assembly constituency after delimitation of constituencies in 2009. Some parts of the area are under Denduluru constituency of West Godavari district.

Hanuman Juntion has been in news after the reports in the media quoting the probable cities for new capital of Seemandhra. The reasons for considering the town for the capital city are availability of government lands, good transport and communications and business activity.

The advantages for Hanuman Junction are Gannavaram airport, Machilipatnam port, road connectivity through NH-9 and widespread business activity.

The Committee set up by the Center to search for probable capital for Andhra Pradesh is reportedly stopped its activity due to election code of conduct. The committee did not tour the areas that are in news for the capital city. It may resume the search after general and assembly elections 2014.
