ICC Annual Cricket Awards Nominations 2012

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the short lists and nominations for the LG ICC Annual Awards. The ICC has nominated MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli for the ICC One Day International Cricketer of the Year Award. Expectedly, no Indian cricket player has been nominated for ICC Test Cricketer of the Year and ICC Cricketer of the Year Awards after the dismal performance of the Indian Team in Test Tours at England and Australia recently.

Little Master Sachin Tendulkar has been nominated for the ‘People’s Choice Award’ . The Awards will be given on 15t hSeptember 2012 at Colombo. Following are the nominations for ICC Annual Cricket Awards 2012:

1) ODI Cricketer of the Year: MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli (From India) and Sangakkara and Malinga (From Sri Lanka).

2) People’s Choice Award: Sachin Tendulkar (Other Nominees in the People’s Choice Award category are Jacques Kallis, Vernon Philander (both from South Africa) and James Anderson (England).

3) Cricketer of the Year: South African Cricketers Hashim Amla and Vernon Philander, Michael Clarke of Australia and Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka are in the race.

4) Test Cricketer of the Year Nominations: Hashim Amla, Sangakkara, Philander and Michael Clarke.

5) Twenty20 International (T20I) Performance of the year: Dilshan, Ajantha Mendis of Sri Lanka and Chris Gayle of West Indies and Richard Levi of South Africa.
