Lehar Cyclone updates for Andhra Pradesh 2013

The IMD has estimated that the Lehar cyclone is likely to hit land on Thursday. It is also observed that the storm Lehar has gained strength like recent Phailin cyclone. The Lehar is moving fast over the southeast of Bay of Bengal. Lehar has turned into a severe cyclonic storm on Monday.

It is expected by the IMD experts that the cyclone Lehar will make landfall between Machilipatnam in Krishna district and Kalingapatnam in Srikakulam district on November 28 (Thursday) around afternoon.

The real effect of Lehar will start from Wednesday onwards. The East and West Gadavari districts and Krishna are already under severe crisis due to recent cyclones the Lehar is likely to devastate these districts further.

The Andhra Pradesh Government is on high alert and issued orders to district officials of Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and East Godavari to take preventive measures in view of Lehar.
