India’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki has started pre-order of it’s new base variant Maruti Alto 800. This is Maruti’s new version of the existing base model Maruti 800 / Maruti Alto. The Alto 800 can be pre-ordered and you can also book the car online. The strange thing is the pre order is started before it’s official launch and even without knowing the actual price of the car. The price of the Alto 800 is expected in 2 lakh zone.
The good news for the customers is Alto 800 is also coming with CNG option along with Petrol. The car is likely to debut in the market in a week or two. The Maruti is expecting huge number of bookings in the festive season. Hence commenced bookings without launching the car officially.
The new look Alto 800 is coming with several changes to it’s base model Maruti 800. Most important feature is the car comes with a new 796 cc petrol engine that gives a fuel economy of 22.7 kmpl. This is about 15 per cent higher than the engine of the old Maruti Alto.
The exterior design of the Alto 800 seems to be adopted from Maruti A-Star. The interiors also have been revamped through adding safely airbags, more rear leg space etc. The new design will also increases headroom by another 15 mm.
