MLAs and MPs of Guntur District

Guntur has been politically highly active district in the state. The boundaries of the district are as follows: Eastern and North Eastern – The Krishna River, South East- Bay of Bengal, South- Prakasam District, West- Mahabubnagar District. There are 57 Mandals in the district. Main crops are paddy, chillies, tobacco and cotton. Tobacco barons from Guntur district such as Rayapati Sambasivarao are politically very strong and influential. Politically important places in the district are Guntur, Narasaraopet, Vinukonda, Gurajala, Macherla and Bapatla. Maoists also have their presence in and around Gurajala, Vinukonda, Macherla and Karampudi forest area. Following are present MLAs and MPs from Guntur District:
