MLAs of Ahmedabad District of Gujarat

Ahmedabad District is politically very crucial for BJP and the Congress party. The district has 19 Assembly Constituencies. BJP has clear dominance over Congress in 2007 Assembly elections. It bagged as many as 13 Assembly Constituencies in that polls. The Congress has won only 5 constituencies. These are Dholka, Jamalpur, Kalupur, Shaher Kotda and Shahpur. Independent candidates Mer Ranchhodbhai Karshanbhai won from Dhandhuka Constituency.

Constituencies in Ahmedabad district are Daskroi, Bavla, Dhandhuka, Ellis Bridge, Asarwa, Dariapur, Dholka, Khadia, Jamalpur, Maninagar, Rakhial, Sarkhej, Shahpur, Kalupur, Mandal, Naroda, Sabarmati, Shaher Kotda, Viramgam. Following is the list of MLAs of Ahmedabad district after 2007 elections:

1) Daskroi: Patel Babubhai Jamnadas (BJP) defeated Thakor Madhubhai Somabhai of the Congress Party.
2) Asarwa: Pradipsingh Bhagavat Singh Jadeja (BJP) (Rival Candidate: Pattani Madhuben Sanjay Bhai of Congress)
3) Dariapur – Kazipur: Barot Bharat Kumar Chimanlal (BJP). His rival is Surendra Sinh Rajp – Congress
4) Bavla: Lakum Kantilal Ramabhai of BJP has defeated Makwana Gunvantbhai Narsinhbha of the Congress
