MLAs of Surat District – Gujarat Assembly Polls 2012

Surat is one of the largest districts in Gujarat. The district has 12 Assembly constituencies as per the 2007 elections. The number may be increased or decreased after the implementation of delimitation in 2012 Assembly elections. The constituencies are Bardoli, Choryasi, Kamrej, Majura, Mangrol, Nizar, Olpad, Songadh, Surat East, Surat North, Surat West and Vyara. The BJP has outsmarted the Congress by winning 7 out of 12 constituencies. Following are details of winners and losers / runners of 2007 Assembly elections in Surat district of Gujarat.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won in Choryasi, Mangrol, Kamrej, Olpad, Surat West, Surat North and Surat East constituencies. The winners from the BJP are Narottambhai Patel, Rathod Bhartiben Amrutbhai, Vasava Ganpatsinh Vestabhai, Patel Kiritbhai Gangarambhai, Gilitwala Ranjitbhai Mangubhai, Vanani Nanubhai Bhagvanbhai and Kishor Vankawala. The Congress has managed to win in Bardoli, Majura, Nizar, Songadh and Vyara constituencies. The winners from the Congress party are Halpati, Kuvarjibhai Narsinhbha, Ishawarbhai Narsinhbhai Vahia, Pareshbhai Govindbhai Vasava, Vasava Prabubhai Nagarbhai and Gamit Punabhai Dhedabhai.
