The Election Commission of India has released MLC elections schedule 2015 for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states for the Graduate and Teachers Constituencies in both the states. There are two constituencies in each state being vacated due to the expiry of the term. Following are important dates for these elections.
Election Notification Issue: 19 February 2015
Last date for filing nomination: 26 February
Scrutiny of nominations: 27 February
Withdrawal of nominations: 2 March
Polling Date: 16 March
Counting of votes: 19 March
The seats that are being vacated are as follows:
1) East and West Godavari Teachers Constituency
2) Krishna and Guntur Teachers Constituency
3) Hyderabad – Rangareddy – Mahabaabnagar Graduates Constituency
4) Warangal – Khammam – Nalgonda Graduates Constituency.
The MLCs whose term lapsed from these constituencies are Prof. K. Nageswar, Kapilawai Dileepkumar, K. Lakshman Rao and KVV Satyanaraya Raju. The eligible people can apply for voter cards in these constituencies till 19 February 2015.
