The All India Radio has launched FM transmission for Karimnagar. The programs are available between 5 PM to 11 PM everyday. The title of the transmission is Namasthe Karimnagar’. The local MP of Karimnagar, Ponnam Prabhakar promised to put efforts to increse transmission time to 24 hours. The AIR shall telecast the film and entertainment based programmes during 5 PM and 11 PM. Kiran Kumar Reddy greeted the people on the launch of Karimnagar FM Relay station.
Along with political leaders of the district, R. Vidyasagar, Director General and Engineer-in-Chief, AIR (Delhi) acknowledged the occasion. The FM relay station with one KW transmitter with 40km radius at present, would cover Karimnagar town and surrounding areas catering entertainment and info needs of 7.1 lakh people. The capacity would be upgraded to 5 KW with 60 km radial coverage soon. The AIR DG also said that FM services were on the schedule for Kadapa, Karimnagar, Banswada, Mahabubnagar, Srikakulam, Nandyal, Adoni, Suryapet, Khammam, Kamareddy and Kakinada.
