No TRS – Congress merger, at last

The much talked proposed merger of TRS with Congress has lost its sheen when leaders from both camps unleashed the war of words. Now the merger is almost ruled out but pre poll or post poll alliance seems to be the possibility.

Terming the TRS party as ‘narrow minded’, union Minister Jairam Ramesh has opened the debate. KCR also came heavy on Jairam Ramesh for his comments on TRS and Telangana.

The Congress high command seems to be preparing to go alone for Lok Sabha and Assembly Elections 2014. The party may also be resorting to pressure politics on TRS to limit the seat sharing if alliance is possible at all.

On the other hand, TRS is also sending alliance signals to BJP to exert pressure on the Congress and concede as many Assembly seats as possible. Let us see who will succumb.

  1. It is quite befitting that KCR has reduced the status of the Indian National Congress to a receiving end after succeeding in his efforts to bifurcate the State of Andhra Pradesh. Further, he would have no truck with any parties in contesting elections in 2014. Whereas, the performance of both INC and BJP would be dismal in ensuing General Elections 2014 in all the three regions of Andhra Pradesh. BJP will form Government at the Centre while the TDP in Andhra Pradesh with support from TRS.
