Profile and Biodata of Sidda Ramaiah of Congress Party

Bangalore: Siddaramaiah is a Congress leader in Karnataka. He lead the Congress Party towards victory in the Karnataka Vidhan Sabha elections 2013. He will be chief minister of the Karnataka and will sworn in soon after the CLP meet. Sidda Ramaiah is a very senior leader in state politics of Karnataka. He was also a deputy Chief Minister for two terms as the leader of Janata Dal (Secular). He is the brief profile / biodata of Sidda Ramaiah:

Siddaramaiah was born on 12th August 1948. His native place is in Varuna Hobli of Mysore district. He belongs to Kuruba Gowdas community. He started his political career with Bharatiay Lok Dal. His wife is parvathi and their two sons are not in politics at the moment.

Siddaramaiah was first elected to Assembly in 1983. He joined in Janata Party and became minister for various portfolios in the Government of Ramakrishna Hegde. He was minister of finance in the Govt. of Devegowda.

He lost elections in 1999 and again became Deputy CM in the coalition government of Dharam Singh. He came out of JD-S after differences with Devegowda and joined in the Congress in 2006. He won from Varuna Constituency in 2008 and 2013 Assembly elections.
