Profile of Boath MLA – Godam Nagesh

Godam Nagesh is an MLA of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) from Boath Assembly Constituency of Adilabad district. Though many of his colleagues in the TDP are shifting loyalties to TRS, Godam Nagesh remained as obedient soldier of the Telugu Desam Party. He won the Boath constituency in 2009 elections and most likely to contest in 2014 Assembly elections as well. Godam Nagesh is one of the senior politicians in the district. He belongs to ST category for which the Boath constituency is reserved.

Soyam Babu Rao is the main contender for Nagesh from the TRS Party. Babu Rao has defeated Nagesh in 2004 Assembly elections. Soaym babu Rao was recently accused in the human smuggling case along with his party colleague and TRS MLA, Kasipeta Lingaiah. Babu Rao was arrested in 2007 and he was sidelined in the TRS.

The Boath seat was allotted to TDP in 2009 elections as part of the seat sharing arrangement among the Mahakutami parties. The TRS and left parties did not contest from the constituency and supported TDP candidate. Nagesh’s father’s name is Rama Rao. He born in Jatharla Bazar, Hathnor Mandal of the Adilabad district. He studied M.A. and M.Ed. and has been active in politics for more than a decade.
