Profile of Dr.P.Shanker Rao- Secunderabad Contonment

Dr. P. Shanker Rao is representing the Congress Party in AP Assembly as MLA from Secunderabad Contonment Constituency. He won four times from Shadnagar Constituency of Mahaboobnagar district. Shadnagar was alllotted for General Category after reorganisation of constituencies in 2009 and Shankar Rao shifted to Secunderabad Contonment Constituency as it is reserved for Scheduled Castes. Dr. Shanker Rao has turned as a strong opponent of Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy after he was not included in the cabinet formation in 2009. He has been continuing his tirade against YSR family in the form of attacking Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the grounds of corruption charges.

Dr. Shanker Rao is a son-in-law of Congress Working Committee (CWC) member G. Venkata Swamy (Known as ‘Kaka’). Shanker Rao was inducted into the cabinet of N.
