Venkata Swamy is the present MP of this lok sabha constituency.

Gaddam Aravinda Reddy won both 2009 Elections as well as bye elections held in 2010 on the ticket of TRS. Aravind Reddy defeated Krishna Rao of the Congress Party. Arvind Reddy revolted against party leadership which caused temporary trouble. He was branded as a supporter of Y.S.RajasekharReddy. Later he was pacified and continued in TRS, resigned and reelected in 2010 bye election with a decent majority.
