Patil Neeraja Reddy has been in news recently for the wrong reasons. A Bangalore based fast track court has issued non bailable warrant (NBW) on Neeraja Reddy for her alleged involvement in a murder case in Bangalore. A missing case also has been filed on her for absconding. Neeraja Reddy's husband, Seshi Reddy represented Pathikonda Assembly Constituency from the Congress Party before he was murdered in a factional feud. Patil Niraja Reddy is known as a staunch follower of late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.

Neeraja Reddy was elected from Aluru Assembly Constituency of Kurnool District on the ticket of Congress Party. She defeated her close rival K. Rama Krishna of CPI, who contested on the banner of Mahakutami (TDP + Left Parties + TRS) in 2009 Assembly elections. Presently, she is supporting Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in his political endeavors.
