Bhavnagar district has nine Assembly constituencies. The BJP has clear lead in 2007 elections. The congress managed to win from Bhavnagar South Assembly Constituency. All the remaining 8 constituencies were secured by BJP candidates. There seems to be a huge in-fight in the BJP unit of the district. The Anti Narendra Modi group has been much active in the district. This is likely to dampen winning chances of BJP in several constituencies of Bhavnagar district in 2012 Assembly elections. Though the Congress is relatively week, it is keeping hopes on the anti Modi campaign by the BJP dissidents. Following are the winners and runners of 2007 Assembly Elections in Bhavnagar district:

1) Bhavnagar North Constituency: CPM candidates was the runner in this segment. Dave Vibhavariben Vijaybhai of the BJP won from the constituency.

2) Bhavnagar South Constituency: This is the only seat won by the Congress Party. Its candidate Gohil Shaktisinh Harichandrasi defeated the BJP nominee, Vaghani Jitendra Savjibhai.

3) Sihor Constituency: Nakarani Keshubhai Hirajibhai of the BJP has defeated Mangukiya Babubhai Mavajibhai of the Congress.

4) Botad Seat: INC candidate Chandravadanbhai Chhtubhai was defeated by Saurabh Patel of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

5) Ghogho Constituency: Parshottambhai Odhavjibhai Sol of the Bharatiya Janata Party has defeated Vegad Karshanbhai Bhikhabhai of the Congress Party.

6) Palitana Segment: The Congress candidate Kantrodiya Labhibhai Popatbhai was defeated by Sarvaiya Mahendrasinh Parakram of the BJP.

7) Gadhada Constituency: The BJP candidate Parmar Atmaram Makanbhai has defeated the Congress nominee Maru Pravinbhai Tidabhai.

8) Talaja Constituency: The BJP nominee Makvana Bhavnaben Raghavjibhai has defeated Zaverbhai Dharmashibhai Bhaliy of the Congress Party.

9) Mahuva Constituency: Kalshariya Kanubhai Valabhai of the BJP has defeated Mehta Amit Kiritbhai of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
