Bangalore: Karnataka Assembly Elections 2013 are under progress. Various media organisations have conducted opinion polls and exit polls on the outcome of the elections. Many exit polls are in favour of the Congress Party. The JD-S is also likely to improve its tally comparing to 2008 Assembly elections.

The popular channels NDTV, CNN- IBN, Times Now, Headlines Today and Aaj Tak will release exit polls soon after the completion of the polling on 5th May 2013. Earlier opinion polls, surveys by pre-poll surveys conducted by CSDS for CNN-IBN News channel and the Week magazine have predicted majority for Congress Party.

The CSDS survey, which is known to be a credible one suggests that the Congress is likely to gain own majority ot form the Government without the support of BJP and JD (S). They have predicted 37 percent vote share for the Congress party.

JD-S is also likely to improve it's performance. Most surprising part of pre-poll surveys is JD-S leader and former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy emerged as the preferred candidate for the post of Chief Minister. Yedyurappa and Congress leader Siddaramaiah secured second and third places respectively.
