Penumalli Madhu is a leader of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and a former member of Rajya Sabha from Andhra Pradesh. He born on 7th June 1948 at Kanuparthipadu, Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh. He was married to V. Sumathi and they have a daughter.

Madhu studied Under Graduation and lives at H.No.89, LIC Colony, Indirapark, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. He was elected to Rajya Sabha in 2004 and served in the house committees on Rural Development, Urban Development etc. He actively participates in social movements and other party activities.

Madhu joined in Communist Party of India (Marxist) in 1968 and served as a founder Secretary of SFI State Committee. He also served in various important positions in the party in the organisations like DYFI, State Kisan Sabha, Agricultural Workers Union etc. His term as an MP of Rajya Sabha has been completed.
