2009 Elections: Vanama Venkateswara Rao, Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, Gudibanda Kamala Manohar Rao and Bhupathi Lavanya were contested from the Congress, CPI, BJP and Lok Satta Parties respectively. Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao, a Mahakutami candidate from CPI won the seat in 2009 elections.
