The Telugu Desam party is gearing itself up to finalise Lok Sabha candidates for the coming general election 2014. The party may announce the list of MP contestants in the last week of March or first week of April 2014.
It seems the TDP is following wait and watch policy as realignment of political parties is on the cards in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.
The TDP has been successful in attracting as many leaders as possible from the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh. But it has to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates and announce the candidatures.
In Telangana also, the TDP may be looking for alliances before short listing the aspiring candidates from various constituencies. TDP is likely to gain in Telangana if an alliance is possible with BJP. At the same time, this alliance may cut the TDP prospects in AP.
