The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee, strictly following the previous conventions and constitutions obligations has sent the Telangana Draft Bill / AP Reorganisation Bill to AP Assembly asking it to send back within 6 weeks. This is likely to delay the Telangana state formation further.
It is quite surprising that the President send the Bill on the same day as Congress Party MPs from both the regions met him pitching for their demands.
Pranab, known for his political acumen and trouble shooting experience has satisfied both the camps to some extent.
He satisfied the Seemandhra MPs by giving about 40 days for the Assembly to discuss the Bill and ensuring some delay in the process. At the same time, he pacified the Telangana MPs by sending the Bill to Assembly without any delay, as requested by them. That is Pranab Da!
