Here comes another twist in the formation of new districts in Telangana state. The Government has received new proposals to form Warangal Rural and Warangal Urban districts instead of Hanamkond district. There is widespread dissent on the split of Warangal and Hanamkonda towns into different districts.
The Government is positive on the proposals for Warangala Urban and Rural districts instead of separate Hanamkonda district. Final decision is yet to be taken. The Proposed new Warangal Urban and Warangal Rural districts will have following mandals:
Mandals in Warangal Urban District: Warangal, Hanamkonda, Hasanparthy, Kazipet, Dharmasagar, Chilpur, Veleru, Station Ghanpur, Rayaparthy, Jaffargad, Narmetta, Raghunadhapalli, Palakurthy, Kodakandla, Devaruppala, Huzurabad, Yelkathurthy, Bheemadevarapalli, Kamalapur, Jammikunta.
Mandals in Warangal Rural District: Inavolu, Vardhannapet, Atmakur, Geesukonda, Sangem, Parvatagiri, Nekkonda, Chennaraopet, Narsampet, Khanapur, Duggondi, Nallabelli, Sayampet, Parakala.
