Aadhaar Cards in Uttar Pradesh- Online Enrolment in UP

The enrollment process for Aadhaar Cards issue in Uttar Pradesh has been spruced up. The process has been started in August 2010 through an MoU between Govt. of India (UIDAI) and Department of Food and Civil Supplies, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. But the operational formalities in the state remain slow for a long time. Recently the Govt. of UP has directed the concerned authorities to speed up the enrollment process as many of the states are much ahead in enrollment and issue of Aadhaar cards. Aadhaar cards are Unique ID cards initiated by Govt. of India.

The authorities will issue information in the form of news or advertisement to circulate the information on enrollment and issue of Aadhaar Cards in Uttar Pradesh. Residents have to visit local Enrollment Camps nearest to them and register themselves by submitting required documents for enrollment. Those who already applied for Aadhaar Cards can check status of application through online.

Aadhaar Cards are Unique Identity Cards which can be used for multiple purposes such as ID proof, to get benefits from various Govt. Schemes, welfare programs, pensions, ration etc. State Governments can use the card for the selection of beneficiaries for several welfare programs. Though the Aadhaar Card is not mandatory it is highly recommended to enroll for the convenience of citizens and Governments.

Citizens can apply online for Aadhaar cards. Those applying offline have to submit required documents along with application. Aadhaar enrollment forms may be available on UP food and Civil supplies department website: http://fcs.up.nic.in/upfood/fcsportal/FoodPortal.aspx . There are different forms for various states. You can also check Aadhaar official portal at https://portal.uidai.gov.in/uidwebportal/dashboard.do OR uidai.gov.in .
