In a major push to the development of infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh, the Government of India has agreed to share the project cost of Amaravati – Anantapuram Express Way. The proposed project will link Rayalaseema districts of Anantapur, Kurnool and Kadapa to Guntur – Mangalagiri – Amaravati.
393 KM Six Lane Way:
The total length of Anantapur – Amaravati Express Way is 393 KMs. Out of this, 208 KMs will be a six lane and 185 KMs will be a four lane road. There will be connecting roads to Kurnool and Kadapa along with Express Way.
The project was in shelves for a while as the Center rejected for taking sole responsibility for the cost land acquisition at Rs. 2000 crore. Center has agreed to take up the project is the land is acquired by the State Government, for which the later has not accepted. Finally, both Center and State have come to share the cost of land acquisition equally.
