There seems to be an undue delay in the announcement of notification for Panchayat Raj Elections in Andhra Pradesh. The State Election Commission is likely to release the panchayat election notification in the first week of July 2013.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh is in the process of finalising reservations in the panchayats. Earlier it was predicted that the election notification would come out by the end of June 2013. But the pending reservation process at the districts may force the Government to postpone the notification for a week.
The Panchayat Raj department has ordered the district officials to finish the process of finalising reservations in panchayats. The officials have to send gazettes to the Government after the completion of reservation process.
The Government is collecting the reservation details at the Panchayat level to give it to the election commission.
