Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), largest public transport network in AP is contemplating to provide 25 percent concession in ticket price to senior citizens traveling in RTC buses. The Executive Council of APSRTC has already accepted this proposal which will benefit lakhs of old age people and senior citizens traveling in state run APSRTC buses. The Government has to take final decision before implementation.
The APSRTC is also proposed to issue multi purpose cards to bus passengers. The corporation is also thinking of establishing separate ITIs, driving tracks for RTC drivers and GPS system for 12000 buses in the state. 1000 more buses are proposed to run in villages with the help of IKP associations.
