Check EPF Account Balance and Withdraw Status Online

Its certainly a good news for about 5 crore Provident Fund subscribers in India. The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the chief of PF account management for crores of employees has decided to provide PF account details online for all its subscribers. So, you can check the amount accrued in your EPF account online through your computer from 1st July 2011. All that you need to do is provide is your PF account number. EPFO is also thinking of replacing PF account number with Aadhaar unique identification number (UID).

This is will help the salaried employees a lot and they can plan their financials by checking the amount in the PF account from time to time. It has been a tedious process for lakhs of people to get a service from PF offices. Lets hope that the new online process will offer hassle free services to the subscribers. The online facility will be fully functional from 1st June 2011. You may also be able to apply online for withdrawal in the near future!

After the access of PF accounts gone public, PF subscribers may be able to check their PF contribution, interest accrued, status of their application for advances, loans along with some other features. There may be some other changes in the pipeline regarding SSN (Social Security Number) and NUIA (National Unique Identification Authority) and possible linkage of all these services.
