DIPP Examiner of Patents and Designs Examination 2010

Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) will recruit candidates for the posts of Examiner of Patents and Designs in the Pay Band of PB-3 of Rs. 15600 – 39100. DIPP shall conduct a All India Competitive Examination 2010 for this purpose. Interested candidates can apply either online or offline. Applications are available at designated branches of Indian Bank and Oriental Bank of Commerce. Online applications will be accepted through official websites of the organisation www.dipp.nic.in or www.ipindia.nic.in There are 257 posts out of which 39, 19 and 79 posts are reserved for SC, ST and OBC candidates respectively. Last date for receipt of filled in applications is 25th October 2010. Subject / Discipline wise list of vacancies are given below.

Eligibility: Candidates should have Masters Degree in Physics/ Molecular Biology/ Chemistry/ Bio-Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Microbiology/ Bio- Physics. OR Bachelor Degree in Engineering/ Technology. Applicants with Research experience, Degree in Law and Certificate or Diploma in a foreign languages like German, French, Russian, Spanish etc. will be given due weightage. Applicants age should be between 21- 35 years with all applicable relaxations.

Selection Procedure contains Written Examination in two phases: Preliminary and Main Examination. These will be conducted on 2nd January 2011 across centers located at Bangalore, Hyderabad, Bhavnagar, Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Pilani, Chennai, Delhi, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Jorhat, Kolkata, Nagpur, Pune and Thiruvananthapuram.

Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) consist of Objective Multiple choice questions for 100 marks. And Main examination will be in descriptive type and for 300 marks. The Appointment notice was issued by Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks.
