The Election Commission (EC) will start disbursing photo voter identity cards through e-Seva centres and post offices in Andhra Pradesh from January 25. January 25th is observed as the National Voters Day. The final list of voters that was released on January 5 is available on the Election Commission website www.ceoandhra.nic.in. About 20 lakh voters are likely be provided electoral photo identity cards (EPIC) on January 25. The voters can check their names on the voters list by checking EC website. Now you can get voter ID card in 7 days, thanks to the the new initiative of the Election Commission.
The Election Commission is making arrangement to install DPL machines at the e-Seva centres to issue EPIC cards to the voters. Apart from that, 16,000 post offices across the state are identified to issue EPIC cards. The voters have to submit a applications to the postman and after proper inquiry, the Epic cards will be sent to the voter’s address through speed post.
EC appointed around 66,000 booth level officers (BLOs) in the state to receive applications from the voters. Voters can also register online through www.ceo.ap.gov.in and the inquiry officer can visit them in the due course. The EPIC card will have to be handed over to the voter within 15 days after the inquiry. Apart from these, the EC has also made arrangements to issue photo ID cards for students in a expedite manner.
