The elections to Himachla Pradesh Assembly will be held in November – December 2012. The Election Commission of India has finalized all the dates including polling, counting and results for Himachal Pradesh Assemble Elections 2012.
In all probability, the elections will be held in November – December 2012 as the present Assembly will expire on 10th January 2013. The EC will announce the dates with detailed schedule on 3rd October 2012.
Himachal Pradesh is likely to face single phase elections. The EC has informed the Home Ministry about the requirement of 9,000 personnel from paramilitary forces and another 14000 police personnel from state police for HP elections.
Himachal Pradesh has 68 Assembly constituencies. Out of these, 17 segments are reserved for SCs and 3 constituencies are reserved for STs. More details of Gujarat polls may be available on official EC website at ceohimachal.nic.in .
