How to Download, Install and Use Corona Kavach App to track Corona Risk

Here comes another mobile app to track Corona virus. Government of India has launched Corona Kavach app which helps you to check if any corona patients around you and take preventive measures accordingly. This app is developed by Ministry of IT, Government of India. Following are important details of Corona Kavach app.

What is Corona Kavach app?

Corona Kavach app is aimed at containing the spread of corona virus. During installation, users may need to give information related to symptoms of Corona like difficulty in breathing, body temperature, sore throat etc. Depending on your information, the app will put you in categories like All Good, See a Doctor, Quarantine, and Infected. Best part of the app is it alerts you if any person in the proximity to you has corona infection.

How to download Corona Kavach?

Corona Kavach app is presently available on the Google Play Store only and will be available for iOS users soon.

1) Go to Google Play Store
2) Search for Corona Kavach in the search bar
3) Check the results properly as you might end up installing any duplicate app. See the developer name and Install if it is by Government of India.
4) Now open the app and grant access to your location and storage. This is very important as the app works on your location to find any corona positive patients around you.
5) Now register with your mobile number and OTP delivered to it.
6) It will redirect you to home page, where you will find all the latest infor on COrona like total cases, deaths and recoveries.
7) On the lower part of the app, there is an option to start tracking of app. This should be activated while you move out.

How it is useful?

1) Corona Kavach alert users if they are near a COVID-19 infected patient
2) It also monitor the status of the community spread in your location.
3) The app sends notifications you if you are in close contact with anyone tested positive for Corona.
4) You can also check your current status based on the colour coding as given below.
Green: Means you never came in close contact of any Corona patients
Yellow: You are in close proximity to a Corona positive person
Red: You are tested positive for Covid-19.
