The Hyderabad City Police have launched a mobile App ‘Hyderabad City Police – Lost Report’ for the benefit of the citizens. The people who lost their documents can register complaints through using mobile phones. They will also get the police report acknowledgement about the complaint on the mobile phone. The App can be downloaded from Google Play Store for Android phones and from Appstore for iOS users.
The citizens need not go to police stations to file complaints regarding loss of valuable documents. You will also get a loss report / certificate within 72 hours. There will not be any charges for this service. The complainant need Aadhaar card to cross check the details.
The loss reports can be filed for documents and valuables such as Aadhaar card, bond certificates, camera, educational certificates, cell phones, ID cards of college / school, bank pass book, bank cheque books, government and private sectors, vehicle fitness certificate, I-pads and laptops etc.
The Loss Report / Loss Certificate can be used for all official purposes like getting insurance claims and seeking a duplicate document etc. The nodal officers will verify the report and approve / reject the report based on the databse from concerned departments. The police department has collaborated with other departments to check the genuineness of the ‘loss certificate’.
