The Telangana State government has extended the last date for the submission of online applications for BPS / LRS schemes till 1st March 2016. The orders were issued on Monday (1st February 2016) extending the last date for receipt of applications for the regularisation of unapproved and illegal layouts under LRS Scheme and unauthorised constructions or buildings constructed in deviation of the sanctioned plan under BPR / BPS scheme till March 1, 2016.
The Government of Telangana has taken the decision to extend the last date considering the poor response from the property owners. Though the Government has secured good amount under BRS, it failed in getting expected returns through LRS. The extended last date is applicable for all the districts of Telangana including Hyderabad, Warangal, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda, Medak, Rangareddy, Adilabad and Nizamabad.
The Government has informed that within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) alone, a total number of 1.69 lakh applications were received till 31st January 2016. Out of these, 1,13,298 belonged to the regularisation of buildings (BRS / BPS) and 56,271 were those of plots in illegal / unauthorised layouts (LRS).
