The government of Telangana is gearing up to another round of BPS (Building Penalisation Scheme), LRS (Layout Regularisation scheme) and BRS (Building Regularisation scheme) in the state. The government may issue GO and notification very soon as the GHMC poll schedule is underway.

Previously the YSR government has implemented the BRS and LRS schemes in 2008. It is expected that the government may use the schemes to gain benefits in the ensuing GHMC elections in Hyderabad.

The Telangana government is planning to release LRS, BRS and BPS notifications in September 2015 as the GHMC elections are scheduled in December 2015 / January 2016.
It is expected that the LRS and BPS schemes would fetch about Rs 2000 crores to the government as thousands of illegal layouts and constructions were identified in Hyderabad and other cities of Telangana state.
