NTR Journalists Housing Scheme in Andhra Pradesh – Eligibility and Benefits

Here is a good news for journalists in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has decided to provide houses / flats for all the accredited journalists under various central, state government scheme and also support from Information and Public Relations Department of the State (IPR). Following are details of Journalists Housing Scheme in AP.

Eligibility:

1) Journalists should have accreditation from Government of Andhra Pradesh.

2) They need to provide residential proof in the form of Aadhaar or native certificate from MRO / Tahasildar office.

3) Journalist has to provide affidavit with regard to any benefits in the form of house / plot / flat from the previous authorities on his / her or their spouse name. Recipients of any benefit from the previous or present Governments will not be eligible for this scheme.

4) House will be registered in the name of his / her wife or their mother if the beneficiary is not married. The journalist has to provide affidavit in this regard.

5) Journalists in rural areas will be provided houses under NTR Housing Scheme and Centrally Sponsored Scheme along with financial support from I and PR Department.

6) Journalists in Urban areas will have 4 options. These are as follows:

Scheme 1: 1 BHK House: 365 sft. Unit cost is Rs. 6.65 lakhs. In this 1.5 lakhs each will be provided by State and Central Governments, 1.5 lakhs by I and PR department. The balance 1.15 lakhs has to be paid by the beneficiary.

Scheme 2: 2 BHK House: 430 sft. Unit cost is Rs. 7.65 lakhs. In this 1.5 lakhs each will be provided by State and Central Governments, 1.5 lakhs by I and PR department. The balance 2.15 lakhs has to be paid by the beneficiary.

Scheme 3: 3 BHK House: 720 sft. Unit cost is Rs. 11.52 lakhs. In this 1.5 lakhs each will be provided by State and Central Governments, 1.5 lakhs by I and PR department. The balance 7.02 lakhs has to be paid by the beneficiary.

BLC Scheme: 430 sft. Unit cost is Rs. 5 lakhs. Govt of India and Govt of AP will provide Rs.1.5 and Rs. 1 lakh respectively, I and PR will give Rs.1.5 lakhs and remaining Rs 1 lakh has to be paid by the beneficiary.

NTR Scheme of Rural Journalists:

House will be constructed upto 750 sft. Government of AP will provide Rs.1.5 lakhs and I and PR dept will give Rs. 1 lakh. And the balance amount, depending on the area of the house should be paid by the beneficiary.
