Palki Sharma Upadhyay is an Indian journalist, news anchor and a designer who is presently working in World Is One News. She has worked for many years in news channels like Doordarshan, CNN-News 18 and newspaper Hindustan Times. She started her journalism in India’s largest news broadcasting network Doordarshan as a news anchor and writer. Currently, she is the Executive Editor and news reader at WION.

Early Life and Family:

Palki Sharma Upadhyay was born on 29th May, 1982 in Pilani, Rajasthan, India. Her father was a well-known cricketer and her mother was a famous beauty expert. She belongs to the Hindu religion. She completed her schooling from Loreto Convent, Tara Hall, Shimla and college from ICG Institute for Educational Research & Development Alliance Francoise de, Delhi. She has a Master’s Degree in Communication and Journalism from the ICG Certified C1 French Learner from Alliance Francaise de, Delhi. Later, she married a Sanket Upadhyay who is presently Editor of Politics and they were blessed with a daughter named Manya.

Career:

Unlike many other news readers, Palki Sharma is known for her calm and composed procedures of conducting debates and interviews. Palki started her career in Doordarshan as a news anchor for the regional and national channel. In 2004, she moved on to become a Staff Writer in the Hindustan Times. After a year, she joined the CNN-News 18 channel as a news reader and Senior Editor. She worked there for 10 whole years and and held various interviews and debates. She also got the Award for Best News Reader in 2007. In 2016, she moved on to ITV Network as an anchor. After that, she became the Executive Editor and news reader at World Is One News.

Presently, Palki Sharma is considered one of the successful news anchors in India. Her interests are pot painting, designing and other artistic works. She also has a sari designing company named Revya which reflects her love for saris.
