PM KISAN (Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi) is the flagship program of Government of India to provide financial assistance to the farmers of the country. It is announced in the Union Budget 2019-20. An amount of Rs.6000 per annum will be distributed to the eligible farmers in four phases in a financial year. First installment of Rs. 2000 will be credited into the bank accounts of farmers between 24th February and 31st March 2019.
Aadhar is mandatory:
Aadhaar number is mandatory for availing benefits / money under PM KISAN scheme. If the farmer is not having Aadhar card, he / she has to get Aadhar Enrollment number. This can be obtained from any Aadhaar enrollment centers across the country.

Along with Aadhaar, the authorities may also collect other prescribed documents for identity verification and transfer of amount under first installment of the scheme for the year 2018-19.
First Installment by 31st March 2019:
As per the Government orders, the first installment benefit under PM KISAN scheme for the period 01 December 2018 to 31 March 2019 will be transferred to the eligible beneficiaries in the current financial year (2018-19) itself. Cut off date for the first installment has been fixed as 31st March 2019. First installment amount shall be transferred immediately to the bank accounts of farmers on identification of the beneficiaries.

Second and Third Phases / Installments:
It is mentioned that Aadhaar is compulsory for second, third and fourth phases of PM KISAN scheme. The amount will be transferred only on the basis of Aadhaar seeded data base available with the Government / banks.
It is also advised to the States and UTs to ensure that there is no duplication of Aadhaar data to avoid the duplication of the payment transferred to eligible families. Wrong / incomplete bank details of the farmers have to be corrected immediately by the authorities concerned.
