Kasu Venkata Krishna Reddy is a nephew of Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Kasu Brahmananda Reddy. Krishna Reddy’s father, Kasu Vengala Reddy also a famous personality in Guntur District. Kasu Krishna Reddy is representing the Congress Party from Narasaraopet Assembly Constituency. He defeated Kodela Sivaprasada Rao of Telugu Desam Party, who is a long time political rival for him. Krishna Reddy also served as Member of Parliament from Narasaraopet Parliamentary Constituency. Krishna Reddy was inducted into the cabinet of Late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy after 2004 elections. But he was dropped from the cabinet after 2009 elections. Krishna Reddy is known as a strong supporter of YSR and loyal of the Congress Party.
