Konda Surekha is a staunch follower of Y.S.Rajasekhar Reddy family. She is representing Parkal Assembly Consitituency of Warangal district. Presently Surekha is in the Congress Party and also would be the first Congress MLA to join Y.S. Jagan’s party. She served as Minister in the cabinet of YSR. After the death of YSR, she quit the cabinet in protest against Congress High Command’s decision on denying Chief Minister. post to Y.S. Jagan. She has been in the fore front of Y.S. Jagan’s political activities.
Konda Surekha was elected to AP Assembly twice from Shyampet Assembly constituency of Warangal district during 1999 and 2004 elections. She contested from Parkal Constituency in 2009 and won from the same and inducted into YSR’s cabinet as Minister for Women Development and Child Welfare. Surekha’s Husband Konda Muralidhar Rao is also a leader of the Congress Party and presently he is serving as an MLC in AP Legislative Council. Following is the brief profile of Konda Surekha:
