AP Government has come out with another welfare scheme. The Government has decided to help Priests, Imams, Moazzams, and Pastars through separate scheme. Each of the above beneficiary will get Rs.5000 as one time amount in an year.
33803 Priests to benefit:
As part of the scheme, 33803 temple priests will benefit from the scheme. About Rs. 16.97 crores has been released for the welfare of priests.
13646 Imams and Moazzams:
AP Government has identified 13646 Imams and Moazzams under this pension scheme. For them, Rs..82 crore amount has been released by the Government.
29841 pastars:
The Government has identified 29841 church pastars for this scheme. Rs.14.92 crore has been released for them as one time benefit.
Ministry of endowments and minority welfare will oversee the implementation of the scheme. Beneficiaries will be identified by the Grama / Ward Volunteers at village and urban levels.
