Hyderabad’s power distributor has made it easier than ever to deal with electricity issues, all you need is WhatsApp. The Telangana Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) has launched a WhatsApp chatbot that lets consumers handle a range of power-related queries without stepping out or making a phone call. Just save the number 8712441912, open WhatsApp, type “Hi” and you are in.
Once connected, the chatbot allows you to register complaints, check your billing details, and get live updates on power supply in your area, any time of the day, from wherever you are.
The launch comes at a time when electricity-related scams are on the rise across Hyderabad. Fraudsters have been sending alarming messages to consumers warning them of fake pending bills and threatening immediate power cuts unless payment is made urgently to a given number. TGSPDCL said the chatbot directly tackles this problem, consumers can instantly verify their actual bill status through the official channel, leaving no room for scammers to exploit uncertainty or panic.
TGSPDCL Chairman and Managing Director Musharraf Faruqui urged all consumers to save the number and make use of the service for a faster, safer experience.
