The Telugu Desam party appears to be taking the state bifurcation as an opportunity for an image make over. The meeting convened by Chandrababu Naidu with Telangana leaders sent indications of TDPs future role in Indian politics.
The TDP is likely to emerge as a national political party after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. The party is planning to consolidate Telugu people in Tamilnadu and Karnataka and other parts of the country where telugu people are considerable in number.
Chandrababu Naidu is likely to play the role of Mulayam Singh yadav by handing over reigns of the party in Seemandhra and Telangana to his loyalists.
