Bonalu festival has been celebrated across Telangana and Hyderabad. The festival is called as Ujjaini Mahankali bonalu, Golkonda Bonalu, Secunderabad Bonalu, Lashkar Bonalu, Pochamma Bonalu etc in various parts of Telangana. This is one of the prestigious and culturally significant festival in Telangana. The State Government has declared official public holiday on Bonadu.
